I was born in Southfield, Michigan, but raised in a city known for its southern charm, Charleston, South Carolina. After high school, I went on to attend and graduate from Florida A&M University, (a Historical Black College & University) with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After teaching in elementary and middle schools in and around Orlando, Florida, I received my master's degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Many years later, after serving as a school administrator in Charleston, South Carolina, I returned to Tallahassee, Florida and began work on my doctoral degree in education at Florida State University. I graduated in April of 2021. During my career as an educator, I have worked with learners of all ages from Pre-K to graduate school. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling to the beaches of the Caribbean and watching True Crime TV. .
